“Now’s the time to get it done,” said Al Juhnke, agriculture/energy field representative for Franken. Approving new legislation would become more difficult as Election Day this fall comes nearer, he said. New tax credit for Minnesota businesses that hire veterans 
U.S. Sen. Al Franken announced Tuesday that a new tax credit is now available to Minnesota employers who hire veterans. The credit, as high as $9,600 per veteran for for-profit employers or $6,240 for tax-exempt organizations, is available to employers who hire veterans who have been unemployed.

Kent Conrad, D-N.D., said Tuesday that the comments show the candidates are spreading “misinformation” about a vital program that does not subsidize the sugar industry.
