Mandan man arrested for loaded gun at Bismarck airport 
Police Sgt. Mark Buschena tells the Bismarck Tribune that airport security officers saw the outline of a handgun in the man's carry-on bag with X-ray. Police say the man had two magazines with him and both were loaded. One of the magazines was in the .45-caliber pistol.

MSP airport to add 'relaxation rooms' to rent by hour for snoozing
Atlanta-based Minute Suites LLC will land at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport by December, setting up 14 relaxation rooms in Terminal 1 that fliers can rent by the hour. House lawmakers: Airport screeners ineffective, rude 
House members of both parties on Monday teed off against the agency in charge of airport and port anti-terrorist screening, saying it uses ineffective tactics, wastes money on faulty equipment and treats travelers rudely. TSA officials told a hearing that airport screening is getting better for U.S. travelers, because the agency is moving away from a one-size-fits-all system. Instead, the TSA is expanding programs to identify travelers posing a risk, while allowing those who provide personal information in advance to go through a fast line.

Biometric ID for international travelers at MSP airport 
International travelers should have an easier time moving through the Twins Cities airport. Rather than wait in line for entry processing by a CBP officer, those who participate in the 'global entry' program can use the kiosk to scan their passport and verify their fingerprints. The agency predicts wait times will be reduced by 70 percent.

January airline boardings up in North Dakota 
The data from the state Aeronautics Commission show that the jump was due in large part to booming business at the Dickinson and Williston airports in western North Dakota's oil patch. Boardings at Dickinson were up nearly 78 percent, and they rose more than 172 percent in Williston.
