The city of Grand Forks is inviting the residents of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks to a special thank you to former President Bill Clinton Saturday "for his efforts and support of our community’s flood recovery," according to a city news release. Clinton will be in Grand Forks for the North Dakota Democratic-NPL Convention.
Flood cleanup work under the Kennedy and Sorlie bridges over the Red River between Grand Forks and East Grand Forks will result in traffic reduced to a single lane -- on Monday at the Kennedy and on Tuesday at the Sorlie.
The Sorlie Bridge will open as soon as the Red River goes down and the Department of Transportation finishes its bridge inspection, which continued Wednesday, said Kevin Dean, public information officer with the city of Grand Forks.
