Crookston Police are alerting people that a level three sex offender has moved into the city. It's the first high-risk sex offender that's moved there since Dru Sjodin's convicted killer moved there 10 years ago.
Federal authorities have arrested a man for failing to register as a sex offender. The U.S. Marshals Service says 30-year-old Ahmed Toliver is being held in the Cass County Jail. He was arrested Friday. A detention hearing will be held within the next five days.
The Grand Forks Police Department is notifying residents that a high-risk sex-offender is moving into Grand Forks. Justin Michael McGregor, 26, was recently released from the N.D. State Penitentiary and will be living at 1411 Ninth Ave. N., according to police.
A spirited discussion is taking place on a website written by and used by members of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod promising possible controversy this week at a district convention in Alexandria, Minn., over how the conservative denomination will respond to growing reports that church officials allowed the lay pastor to be hired near Bemidji despite his 1983 conviction for sexually abusing a minor. He was arrested last month on similar charges.
Travis Lee Robinson, 27, will live at the Northlands Rescue Mission on 420 Division Ave. He was recently released from the James River Correctional Facility in Jamestown, N.D., and remains under the supervision of the state Department of Corrections.
