Education and workforce are among the areas a group of Red River Valley leaders are focusing on to find new economic and social opportunities for the region, representatives of the project said Thursday.
Grand Forks and most of the northern Red River Valley missed the heavy rain that fell overnight Sunday. Officially, 0.42 inch was recorded at Grand Forks International Airport in the 24-hour period that ended at 7 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
While the southern Red River Valley bore the brunt of Tuesday night’s storm, which dropped as much as 6 inches in some areas south of Fargo, northern and western areas of the valley were not exactly spared.
Warm weather and an early spring kept the produce growing and business flowing in farmers markets around the Red River Valley last summer, but vendors and market organizers may tell a different story this year.
