The Extreme North Dakota Watersports Endurance Test, a more than 26-mile marathon up the Red River, should satisfy the appetite of even the most ambitious open-water swimmers. The race is scheduled for July 21, with racers starting in Grand Forks in the morning and heading downstream to Olso, Minn.

USACE releases assessment of Oslo levee 
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in St. Paul said Thursday that it has released a draft environmental assessment of changes to the levees in Oslo, Minn. The city proposed changes to levees the corps built in the 1970s, including raising levees by 1.1 to 1.7 feet and realigning portions of the levee.
