The Grand Forks Park District started the league in 2000 with 28 teams. The teams play at Bringewatt Park, but the growing popularity of the sport has prompted the district consider more courts at its new fitness center in the city's south end.

The new owner of the property is startup business Northern Air Family Entertainment.
