- Tonight at Fire Hall Theatre: March Movie Madness will present the movie “House on Haunted Hill” at 8 tonight at Fire Hall Theatre, Grand Forks, followed by the cult classic “Reefer Madness” at 9:30 p.m. Tickets: $5 at the door.
‘Cinderella’ & ‘Rats’ Final shows at Empire: The Greater Grand Forks Community Theatre will present its final performances of “Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella” and “Rats!” at 7 tonight and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Empire Arts Center, Grand Forks.
Pie and Ice Cream concert
- Sunday at Central gym: The Grand Forks Central High School instrumental music department will present its annual Winter Pie and Ice Cream concerts beginning at 1:30 and 3 p.m.
Two new titleholders: Mia Pagnac of Bemidji was crowned Miss Grand Cities Outstanding Teen and Alyssa Black of Grand Forks was crowned Miss Grand Forks Outstanding Teen during a Jan. 29 competition at Empire Arts Center, Grand Forks.
Fire Hall Theatre in downtown Grand Forks will again be showing movies on three Saturday nights in November beginning this weekend with “Carnival of Souls.” The films will be part of Fire Hall’s “so bad they’re good” movie series, although a news release from Greater Grand Forks Community Theatre says a couple of these movies aren’t actually that terrible.
To some people, movies about wasp women and giant leeches are cult classics; to others, guilty pleasures. One thing’s for sure, the movies that will be screened during September Movie Mania at Fire Hall Theatre will be the height of sci-fi horror campiness.
