Florida prosecutors dropped charges on Wednesday against two girls accused of stalking a 12-year-old classmate who killed herself after complaining she was bullied online for months, a police official said.
The stepmother of a 14-year-old accused of bullying a Florida girl prior to her suicide was arrested and charged with child abuse after a video depicting the woman beating a boy was posted on Facebook, a sheriff said Friday.
Two girls, ages 12 and 14, have been charged with felony aggravated stalking for what a Florida sheriff described on Tuesday as "maliciously harassing" a 12-year-old girl who jumped from a tower to her death.

An interesting series of news stories has covered a school district in our area, Crookston, wanting to find out why some of its students leave for other districts. I commend the district for seeking answers, an effort that can only enhance the quality of education there.
While a new school year presents exciting possibilities and new experiences, it also holds potential for bullies to make life difficult — or worse — for kids. What, if anything, should parents do if their child has been harassed by another student?
Minnesota schools would be forced to adopt policies against bullying under a bill Minnesota representatives passed 72-57 Monday night.
