Brad Seng is a River Cities Speedway regular, one who knows more than most how to race at the quarter-mile bullring. He put his experience and knowledge of the track to great use late Saturday night as the Grand Forks driver won the 92-lap Seitz Memorial feature — one of the region’s top races of the season.
NASCAR will have a new champion. For now, it has yet another conspiracy. Reigning champion Brad Keselowski failed to make the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship Saturday night when an ill-timed caution ruined his run at Richmond International Raceway.
It was a good night — a really good night — for Don Shaw at River Cities Speedway on Friday night. Shaw earned the pole position on Saturday by winning Friday night’s 20-lap dash — the race that sets the first eight rows of tonight’s feature.
Pat Doar doesn’t race regularly at River Cities Speedway. But the New Richmond, Wis., driver may want to reconsider his race schedule. Doar won the opening feature of the seventh annual John Seitz Memorial Late Model Invitational at the quarter-mile track Thursday night, edging RCS regular Brad Seng by 0.134 seconds in the 25-lap main event that wasn’t decided until the final corner.
If there is a time for a late model driver to go on a hot streak, this is the time to do it. Wisconsin driver Brady Smith is well aware of that and the money that’s up for grabs in region as the race season begins to wind down.
River Cities Speedway nearly went 4-for-4 on Friday night. But Casey Mack didn’t let it happen. Mack, who started ninth, made a late charge to the front and won the RCS 25-lap sprint feature, breaking a string of three first-time winners at the quarter-mile bullring.
Two big World of Outlaws shows are in the books at River Cities Speedway.
Now the track turns its attention toward the final big show of the season — the seventh annual John Seitz Memorial Late Model Invitational scheduled Sept. 5-7.
