When Maggi Adams, formerly of Roseau, Minn., died in 2002, Roseau Friends of the Library gathered pieces of her artwork for “Iggam’s Dreams,” a children’s book about dreams. The work has been on display in the Roseau Area Library, but it was recently taken down for a remodeling project.
A chance in 2000 set the stage for “Starfire Kids Midnight Blue Express,” Larry Preston’s new book about the racers — most of them farmers, inventors and mechanics from Roseau, Minn. — who formed the core of the Polaris-sponsored professional racing team in the 1960s and 1970s.
