Make it 13 straight North Dakota East Region team championships for the Grand Forks Red River girls tennis team. The Roughriders continued their dominance defeating West Fargo 5-0 on Thursday at Courts Plus.

“I didn’t think I was going to win,” she said.
So, the Fargo South junior was calm, played relaxed and pulled off a stunning upset, knocking off two-time defending region champion Mimi Yunker of Grand Forks Red River 6-3, 6-3 on Saturday afternoon in Grand Forks.
The frustration of the Grand Forks Central players was visible after the Knights were eliminated from the North Dakota East Region tournament on Friday, taking away their bid for another trip to the state high school hockey tournament.
The Grand Forks Red River volleyball team entered this weekend’s East Region volleyball tournament on a roll, winning six of their last seven matches.
“Since the Fargo tournament, we’ve been on a good run,” Red River coach Carolyn Olson said. “We’re coming in with some confidence and that always helps at tournament time.”
The winningest senior class in Villanova history was about 10 minutes away from an early exit. Then they started to play Villanova basketball.
