In 1963, Leo Haesle and the Grand Forks Symphony threw a party. It included a pops concert and choirs from all over the city and was the first of a tradition of holiday concerts that involved the whole community.

Tonic Sol-fa plays new music, old favorites
The Minnesota-based a cappella quartet Tonic Sol-fa will return Monday to UND’s Chester Fritz Auditorium in Grand Forks with a 7:30 p.m. concert that’s different from the one they gave here a year ago. But it keeps the fan favorites from previous performances.

I've been surprised at the number of local concert announcements I've heard in the last two days - which is always a good thing for us music lovers. Two upcoming shows in Fargo will bring big-name acts to the region, while a few Grand Forks concerts over the next couple weeks will pack a lot of local talent into the city's nightlife.
