Health & Wellness: Healthy gardening
Ed Alexander looks and feels much younger than his 84 years. His blood pressure is a healthy 120/70. His cholesterol is a low 89 to 116, and not the high 170 it used to be. His 6-foot frame weighs a trim 160 pounds. He laughs often, enjoys 59 years of marriage and naps frequently. More importantly, he and wife Jean, 85, follow a mostly vegan diet. They occasionally indulge in seafood, avoid sugar and milk products, lace oatmeal with flaxseed meal, eat only whole grain bread and snack on fresh fruit.

Q and A: Which device should I use to stream video online?
Q. I have a new home theater setup that includes a 2010 model year Panasonic TCP-42G25 42-inch plasma TV and a Panasonic BD-65 Blu-ray player. Since both my new TV and Blu-ray player will accept the same wireless bridge Ethernet connection to connect to my home network, which one of these devices should I use to connect the Internet for Netflix and similar streaming video sites?

Q and A: What's the deal with HD Radio?
Q. Can you provide some info about HD Radio? I have read about it but when I go to stores to learn more no one seems to know anything. Is the reception really superior and are there going to be a number of new stations added as they say?

Customers’ revenge: Cable providers to play nice
For far too long, cable customers fumed as they waited in vain for the cable guy to show up. When he did come, sometimes it took multiple visits to fix outages. Some customers grappled with billing mistakes that took months to resolve. And cable prices went up every year.

Computer stolen? Software won't rest until it's found
It's your worst nightmare come true. You leave your laptop in your car only for a few moments, perhaps to run into the local convenience store to get a cup of coffee or a newspaper. When you come back, you're horrified to discover that it's been stolen. Or there's some kind of momentary distraction and when you reach for your notebook, it's gone.

Major study on cell phones and cancer comes up inconclusive
The 10-year study, which was conducted by the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer, concluded there were “suggestions” that heavy use could increase the risk of glioma but “biases and error prevent a causal interpretation” that would directly blame cell phone radiation for the tumor.

Handheld device and Internet diagnose car troubles
This column is a timely one for me since I just had the "Check Engine" light appear on my car. A call to my local dealer told me that I should bring it in immediately as the vehicle might suffer damage if I waited too long. I heeded the warning by making a beeline to the mechanic.
