'Men In Black' still funny, even if they’ve lost their fastball
Josh Brolin impersonating the young Tommy Lee Jones is worth the price of admission to “Men in Black 3.” Dry, drawling, deadpan — he nails the flinty Texan in this sentimental sequel to the sci-fi comedies about secret agents in black suits who save the world from aliens.

Cynthia Moothart, Minneapolis, letter: Shame on GOP for record in St. Paul
Since winning House and Senate majorities in the 2010 elections, Republicans shut down government, passed a budget resulting in higher property taxes, starved our schools through irresponsible borrowing, and brought divisive national politics to our front doors. And that represents only a partial list of damage done.

New Vikings stadium needs ‘miracle’ after defeat
The Minnesota Vikings faced opposition as tough as any they see on the football field Monday night when a House committee examined their proposal to build a new stadium. The House Government Operations Committee grilled the Vikings and other stadium supporters late into the night. No vote had come by press time, but during the bill’s fourth legislative committee hearing it became obvious the National Football League team faces fourth down and long if a stadium can be approved in the waning days of the 2012 legislative session.

Fatty liver disease, a condition historically diagnosed in adults with diabetes or alcoholism, is increasingly diagnosed in obese children and teens. Doctors believe that the rise in fatty liver disease to about 17 percent of children mirrors the increase in childhood obesity, which affects nearly the same percentage.

TWINS: Blackburn projected starter for home opener
Four-fifths of the Twins rotation appears to be set. And three-fifths of the rotation has worrisome issues. After Nick Blackburn held Boston to two runs over five innings Friday, Twins pitching coach Rick Anderson said the righthander’s next outing will be the exhibition game Wednesday against the Class A Fort Myers Miracle. Anderson took things one step further. “Figure the math,” he said. “Five days after that, when he’s throwing again? The home opener.” That’s April 9 at Target Field vs. the Angels.
