Robert F. "Bob" Thomas
Robert “Bob” F. Thomas, age 68 of Minto, ND passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born March 7, 1945 in Huntingdon, PA the son of the late Melvin F. and Margaret L. (Skillington) Thomas. He graduated from Southern Huntingdon High School. Bob enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a hospital corpsman in Vietnam from 1964-68. He was united in marriage to Jeanne Nelson on August 17, 1968 at Blair Mills, PA. The couple later moved to Minot, ND and they managed the Thunderbird Motel while he attended Minot State University. Following his education, Bob was an officer on the Minot Police Department. In 1973 Bob re-enlisted in the United States Navy and served at Bethesda Naval Base in MD and Camp Lejeune in NC. Following his discharge in 1975 the couple moved to Mohall, ND and Bob served as Renville County Sheriff for 18 years. In 1994 the couple moved to Minto, ND and Bob worked as Chief Deputy for the Walsh County Sheriff’s Department until retiring on April 1, 2009. Bob was diagnosed with cancer shortly thereafter.

Donald Gene Lutovsky, age 63, of Grafton, ND, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.
Donnie was born on January 15, 1950 in Grafton, ND, the son of Leonard and Delphine (Misialek) Lutovsky. He attended elementary school in Voss and Minto, ND and graduated from Minto High School in 1968. Donnie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. He received his honorable discharge in 1972. In 1976, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1978. Donnie returned home and lived in the Minto, Voss, and Grafton areas. He worked as a painter for his long-time friend Larry Vavrovsky until his retirement in 2012.

Geraldine Frances French, age 70 of Grafton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 in her home surrounded by her family.
Geraldine Wesolowski was born on November 8, 1942 in Acton Township to Dominick and Effie (Altendorf) Wesolowski. She attended and graduated from Oakwood High School in 1962. After graduation, she kept busy with various daycare jobs and even worked as a Grafton City Cab driver for a while. Her proudest career began as a telephone operator at Northwestern Bell. She had several promotions over the years where she eventually became Chief Operator. On July 3, 1971, she was united in marriage to Marvin French at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Grafton. Upon starting a family, she became a full-time mom and had a daycare in her home for several years. In 1989, she decided to go back to work part-time in the lunchroom at Central school and also worked for the ESP program after school. In 1999, she started working full-time at the State Developmental Center in the Nutrition Services department and retired from that position in January of 2010. After retirement, she was extremely proud and overjoyed to be able to provide full-time daycare for her granddaughter Kendra who was born in June of 2010.
