Some confused by NCAA selling Sioux merchandise in online store
With the UND men’s hockey team playing in next week’s Frozen Four, the NCAA’s online store is selling Fighting Sioux apparel. The decision has some wondering how the NCAA can promote selling the apparel yet reached a settlement with the university to retire the logo and nickname. But an NCAA spokesman said it's allowed, until Aug. 15, as part of the settlement.

Fighting Sioux nickname bill passes N.D. Senate; Dalrymple will sign it
The North Dakota Senate voted Friday to approve legislation ordering UND to retain its controversial Fighting Sioux nickname and Indian-head logo. The vote was 28-15 with four senators absent and not voting, and came after a massive e-mail lobbying campaign that senators said heavily favored approval.
