Myrtle I. Kemp
Myrtle I. Kemp, 91, of Cavalier, ND passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Wedgwood Manor, Cavalier. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Cavalier. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton, ND.
Myrtle was born June 24, 1921, near Hamilton, ND to Stanley and Roberta (Menzies) Smillie. She grew up and attended school in the Hamilton area. On October 27, 1939, she married Willis Kemp at Grafton, ND. After their marriage they farmed in the Hamilton area, where Myrtle was a farmer’s wife and homemaker. Cooking and baking were Myrtle’s claim to fame.
