There's a winter storm warning until 6 p.m. in the northern-most counties, where 1 to 3 more inches of snow could bring totals up to around 10 inches in places. In the winter weather advisory area, which includes Grand Forks and East Grand Forks, an additional 1 or 2 inches of snow is possible yet today.

Authorities said after the crash that Fargo police Officer Grant Benjamin stopped in the 5100 block of 40th Avenue South to assist a woman whose car became stuck in the snow during a storm that created white-out conditions in the area. Blizzard Brett showed its face after all. Very strong winds - with gusts up to 50 mph - are causing white-out conditions and blowing and drifting snow over much of the Red River region. The National Weather Service's blizzard warning is through 6 tonight. No travel is advised, especially in open areas. Several stretches of Interstate 29 and U.S. Highway 2 are closed.
