Carlton J. Hendrickson
Carlton J. Hendrickson, 87, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Carlton Jarlin Hendrickson was born July 26, 1925 in Mekinock, ND the son of Theodore and Cora (Burtness) Hendrickson. He was raised on the family farm near Mekinock He entered the United States Army on April 14, 1945 at Fort Snelling, MN. During World War II, he served as a military policeman at Pearl Harbor and in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged from military service on December 7, 1946 at Fort Lewis, WA. He returned to Grand Forks and was employed at Eddy’s Bakery. He moved to Hoople, ND, where he owned and operated a bar. He then moved to Grafton, ND, where he owned and operated the Club 45 Bar. Later, he moved to Grand Forks and managed a coin shop and was employed as part time dry waller until his retirement in 2003. Carlton married Blenda Kvamme in Grand Forks. She preceded him in death. During his retirement years, he enjoyed restoring and refinishing furniture as well as gardening.
