Palmer Eugene Kubat
P. Eugene Kubat, age 89, resident of rural Lawton, ND, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at his home.

Palmer Eugene Kubat was born March 11, 1923 on his parent’s farm in Sauter Township of Walsh County, ND, the son of Joseph E. and Albina (Zizka) Kubat. He was raised on the farm and attended the Sauter School. He helped his dad on the farm, eventually taking over operation of the farm in 1947. Eugene married Margaret Josephine Pich on October 13, 1947 at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Lomice. While Eugene was farming he also had many other talents. He was a great carpenter, working for Matejcek Construction for many years. He was a road grader for Sauter Township, and was the Township Clerk for 50 years. He also was an electrical lineman for several years. He enjoyed deer hunting and ice fishing.

Warren O. Samuelson
Warren O. Samuelson, age 89 of Adams, ND, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

Warren O. Samuelson was born August 11, 1923 in Warren, MN, the son of the late Arvid and Edith (Westberg) Samuelson. He grew up and attended schools in the Adams area before attending NDSSS in Wahpeton for two years. Following his education, he returned to the Adams area and began farming. He was united in marriage to Marcella Knutson on October 31, 1945 in Adams, ND. The couple made their home on the farm near Adams. In 1970, he began working at the MSR Missile Site in Nekoma, ND. He worked there until 1976. He continued to live on the farm until moving into the Edmore Rest Home in December of 2011. In March of 2012 he moved into the Good Samaritan Center in Park River.
