College of Business and Public Administration focuses on the mixing of banking and commerce at Mellem Business Symposium
The mixing of banking and commerce continues to be intensely debated between regulators, business leaders, bankers, and members of congress. Some industry experts believe recent legislation favors activity toward mixing of banking and commercial activities. Yet, there are many who would argue the potential risks from mixing the two are significant enough that banking and commerce should remain separate. Regardless of which side you hold to be true, the College of Business and Public Administration is proud to announce its second annual Mellem Business Symposium, with a full itinerary of national business and government leaders scheduled to speak on the topic of the mixing of banking and commerce. The event begins on the University of North Dakota campus Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Ina Mae Rude Entrepreneur Center and continues on Thursday, Sept. 27, with keynote addresses scheduled throughout the day in Gamble Hall, room 1, from 8:30 am to 3:30 p.m. The College of Business and Public Administration invites all members of the university and greater Grand Forks business community to attend.
