CO Robert Gorecki (Baudette)monitored fishing and boating activity throughout the week. The Rainy River is now open through Baudette and hundreds of boaters were out fishing for walleye during the final weekend of the spring season. Anglers continued to report fair fishing success, but long waits at public accesses to get onto the river.

Douglas “Doug” A. Goetz
Douglas “Doug” A. Goetz, 39 of Grand Forks, ND passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013 in Grand Forks.
Douglas Anthony Goetz was born January 16, 1974 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Gary and Darlene (Sampson) Goetz. He graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1992. For the past 10 years, Doug was employed with the City of Grand Forks, most recently at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Doug was previously married to Mandolin Blue; they were blessed with a daughter, Alexis Elizabeth, one of Doug’s greatest joys in life. Doug enjoyed spending time outside, going to the lake, watching movies, working out, the Dallas Cowboys, his mom’s lasagna and most especially, being with his daughters, Lexi and Justyne. Doug will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
