Funeral services were held for Inez Jackson at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church. Rev. Kirk Meseck officiated at the service. Special music was provided by Karin Moen, pianist and soloist Gary Boraas. Active casket bearers included Bruce Burt, Bill Nelson, Mark Nelson, Dennis Nelson, Lynn Nelson and Terry Yokom. Interment was in the Faith Lutheran Cemetery.
Inez Lubelle Georgenia Nelson was born on Sept 5, 1914 to parents Herman and Cora (Gilbertson) Nelson at Maddock, North Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at the North Viking Lutheran Church. Inez attended grade school and graduated from Maddock High School in 1934 She was very active in the music department at school. After high school, she attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and graduated in 1938 with a BA degree in music and English. After teaching a few years, she went to California where she found employment for a few years working at the payroll office at North American Aviation.

William V. “Bill” Peters, 87, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks.
William Vincent Peters was born January 24, 1926 in Devils Lake, ND the son of George and Merna (Kiefer) Peters. As a boy, he moved with his family to Grand Forks, where was raised and educated. He entered the United States Navy on October 16, 1943 and during World War II served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged from military service on April 5, 1946 at the Great Lakes Navel Station. He returned to Grand Forks and was employed with the Great Northern Railroad and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad until his retirement in 1988. William married Bernadine Narloch on September 18, 1952 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Minto, ND. Bernadine preceded him in death on April 5, 1995. He was an active and lifetime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks.

A lifelong resident of North Dakota, Jeanette graduated from Mayville State Teachers College and the University of North Dakota. She married James O. Flaagan of Tolna, ND, on June 24, 1942, in Minto. Together they raised their children and enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and internationally, dancing the night away and having adventures as a family and couple until Jim’s death in 1991.
