Don Johnson, East Grand Forks, letter: Better treatment for ACS union workers
I am a retired American Crystal Sugar employee of the East Grand Forks factory. During the 36 years I have worked at the factory, I held many different jobs as many of the locked-out employees have. The money and time spent to train these dedicated and loyal employees takes years, not days, and the company officials must and should realize this.

American Crystal campaign workers, Grand Forks, letter: Has ACS forgotten about campaign workers?
As campaign workers for the American Crystal Sugar Company, we wonder if ACS has forgotten about us. We are factory workers who work 10 to 11 months of the year. We receive no medical or dental insurance. No disability insurance. No retirement pension plan or company-matched 401(k). We are 10-month workers who help keep the factory running — making sugar. We are instrumental in keeping sugar a lucrative commodity for production.
