Myra Foundation Awards Record Grants for 2011
Forty-seven charitable, cultural, and educational groups in Grand Forks County were the 2011 recipients of the Myra Foundation grants. The Myra Foundation recently completed its 2011 funding cycle and awarded a record $314,412.00 to groups representing performing and visual arts, human service organizations, education, and health care and wellness efforts. This represents the largest disbursement of funds in the Myra Foundation's 71 year history.

Major League Baseball's largest fan fest is back at the Metrodome - the Twins' old park - after a year away because of roof damage. The team expects about 30,000 to slip through the revolving doors, about 5,000 more than could squeeze into Blaine's National Sports Center last winter, when TwinsFest was one of the many events forced from the Dome.
