Donald Robert Fritz, age 88 of Pembina, ND passed away at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND on Thursday, April 11, 2013. In addition to farming, Don also worked at Motor Coach Industries in Pembina, retiring in 1991.

Ellyn (Nell) S. Halldorson 87 of Cavalier, ND died Thursday April 11, 2013 at Pembina County Memorial Hospital. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday April 16, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the St. Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Monday April 15, 2013 from 5-7 PM at Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND & one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at St. Helen’s Cemetery.

She was the oldest of seven children born to Mike & Matilda Brown of rural Hensel, ND. She attended North Star grade school in rural Hensel, & graduated from St. Alphonsus High School (1942) in Langdon, ND. Nell earned her teaching certificate from Valley City State Teachers College, & taught for seven years at various schools in Pembina County. Nell married Richard J. Halldorson April 15, 1950 & celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2010, shortly before Richard's death at age 88. She loved nothing better than getting her family & friends together, & she and her husband, Richard, sponsored many family reunions throughout the years.
