Snowfall for the Grand Forks area today isn’t expected to be as heavy as previously predicted, according to the National Weather Service. Previous forecasts called for 1 to 4 inches of snow, but new data indicates the area would see only about 1 inch, according to John Hoppes, a meteorologist with the local weather service office.

Saturday’s Minnesota deer opener began pretty much like every other opening day in the past 30 years for Stuart Benson. Roseau County officials said Monday there will be no more organized searches for a man missing since Aug. 11. Another organized attempt to search for Donald Dugger was conducted on Saturday, five miles south of the Roseau County line, officials said.
