Emily Jobe
Emily Jobe, age 89, of Cambridge, MN, and a longtime Crookston, MN resident, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 5, 2013, at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, with her family at her side. Emily was born near East Grand Forks, MN on February 10, 1923, and was one of eight children of the union of William and Mathilda (Kopecky) Kluzak. She grew up on the family farm and attended nearby country school. Emily was united in marriage to William T. Welsh on April 21, 1945 in East Grand Forks. The couple lived in East Grand Forks, where their daughter, Janet, and son, Thomas, were born. In 1955 they moved to Crookston, where Emily was employed at Jiffy Fry and later for Riverview Hospital. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, and served the church as a Deacon while also teaching Sunday school for many years.

On September 16, 1972 Emily married Eldo Jobe in Burnsville, MN. After their marriage, Emily and Eldo made their home in Crookston, and she worked as a library assistant for the Lake Agassiz Regional Library-Crookston until retiring in 1996. In semi-retirement Emily became a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and kept busy volunteering her time and talents for the Library, the RiverView Nursing Home, and the Polk County Museum. She and Eldo were members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and Emily also held membership in the VFW Auxiliary. Sadly, Eldo passed away on June 29, 2008. Emily had recently moved to Cambridge to be near her son, Tom, and his wife, Jan, and was making her home at Grace Point Crossing. She will be dearly missed.
