BOYS BASKETBALL: Red River survives scare to stay unbeaten
Sean Norton, Grand Forks Central’s 6-foot-1 senior guard, single-handedly put Grand Forks Red River’s unbeaten season in limbo Monday night. Norton’s season-high 31 points had the Roughriders squirming for the first time at home all season. Red River dismissed the scare thanks to timely free throws in a 67-62 victory over Central in the Red River gymnasium.

GIRL'S BASKETBALL: Central girls rebound from 0-5 start
When Brent Hintz hears that his Grand Forks Central girls basketball team has room for improvement, he takes it as a compliment. Central showed that room for improvement when it started the season with five straight losses. But the Knights have turned their fortunes around, winning six of their last nine games. On Monday, they travel to Grand Forks Red River to play a Roughriders team that beat the Knights 63-52 last month. The game is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.
