Lois Irene Nelson was born on September 17th, 1927, in Harlan, IA to Ethel and Edwin Nelson. She grew up in Harlan and Walnut, IA. She graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, IA, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She met J. Roger Lindblom at Iowa State, and they were married on May 30th, 1950, in Harlan, IA.
