Stern mothers turn into soft, doting grandmothers
Breakfast in bed. Burnt toast. Handmade cards that say, “I love you.” Those are some of the rewards for mothers today. But the best is yet to be. There comes a time when mothers become grandmothers. Food stamp rule frustrates police in North Dakota
John Schweitzer swiped his credit card, bagged his groceries and walked out of a Wal-Mart without his wallet. When he returned a moment later, it was gone. No taxation without representation
Fargo plans to pay its share of flood protection with a sales tax increase
Their idea is to pass a half-cent sales tax that would raise $200 million over 20 years for the city’s share. I have no statistics as proof, but I’m guessing at least two-thirds of the sales taxes paid in Fargo are from non-residents. So, citizens/shoppers from Thompson, N.D. — to pick a town name randomly out of a hat — will be contributing.
