A teachable moment
In February, a swastika appeared in a UND dorm stairwell. Weeks later, a student who was a Jew, after a confrontation with another student, said he feared for his safety and moved out of the dorm. Disturbing images? Yes. But to Grand Forks Public Schools music teacher Connie Sherwood, who was preparing to direct dozens of students to present the musical “Fiddler on the Roof,” it was a teachable moment, too.
