Quick actions likely saved lives in Cook County Courthouse shootings (video)
Cook County bailiff Gary Radloff doesn’t consider himself a hero, but other folks in town sure do. “There were a lot of heroes in this case,” Cook County Sheriff Mark Falk said in a news conference Friday, the day after two people were shot and two others injured in a courthouse assault allegedly carried out by a Grand Marais man whose five-year criminal battle had just ended in a guilty verdict. FDA examines level of arsenic in apple juice

Studies show that apple juice has generally low levels of arsenic, and the government says it is safe to drink. But consumer advocates say the FDA is allowing too much of the chemical — which is sometimes natural, sometimes man made — into apple juices favored by thirsty kids.
