Police say 34-year-old Lee Jones was alone in his faculty apartment at Shattuck-St. Mary's School at about 9 p.m. Friday when he shot himself with a handgun. Boys in grades seven through nine were in the dorm and heard the shot. School spokeswoman Amy Wolf says the students were moved as adults tried to help Jones.

Director Dave Sena said the banquet night led to a doubling plus of what was garnered at last year’s banquet, and was enough to make up more than 10 percent of the mission’s annual cash budget.
