Donna L Culbreath, age 68, of Grand Forks ND, passed away unexpectedly, with family by her side on Thursday February 14th, 2013 at Altru hospital. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church (Grand Forks) on Saturday February 23rd, 2013 with visitation starting at 10 am and the funeral service to follow at 11 am.
Donna was born in Bremerton, Washington April 4th, 1944 to Maurice and Irene Herber, she was the eldest of two children. Though she had received her Bachelor’s degree in Science education from the University of Washington and subsequently her master’s degree in education as well, at the time, it was traveling that was the love of her life. Donna spent the majority of her 20’s and 30’s traveling the world, exploring abandoned ruins or participating in adventurous expeditions.

A Grand Forks boxer is in critical condition at Altru Hospital after collapsing during an amateur boxing card Saturday. J.J. Moen suffered a severe brain injury, according to his uncle, Mike Sweeney, and, as of Monday night, hadn’t regained consciousness.

Around 20,000 fans packed the Alerus Center to see Strait on what he says is his final tour. Martina McBride opened for Strait, and while she had several loud ovations for her, many in attendance were there to see the main act.

Darrel E. Shereck passed away on February 14th with his wife, Cynthia and sister Karen by his side. He was born January 30, 1957, the son of the late Edward and Dorothy Votava Shereck
Darrel was born and raised in Grafton and attended Grafton Central High School, graduating in 1975. He graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1986 with a BBA degree in Business Management. In 1992, he earned the IREM designation of Certified Property Manager (CPM).

James Joseph Ginter was born on June 1, 1961 the son of Julian and Eleanor (Hendrickson) Ginter in Warren, MN. He was a 1979 high school graduate from Oslo, MN. After high school, Jim worked for area farm operations. He was employed at RDO Foods, Grand Forks for 15 years and was currently working for LM Wind Power at the time of his passing.

Rodney Pape, 79, of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND.
Rodney William Pape was born on October 11, 1933 in Grand Forks, ND the son of Robert and Louella (Laidley) Pape Sr. Rodney grew up in rural East Grand Forks and attended Rural Banner 51 School. He then attended the AC in Crookston, MN and graduated with the Class of 1951. Following graduation he joined the United States Air Force and served his country from 1952 to 1956. On January 1, 1956 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, JoAnn Flatten in the Grand Marais Church of rural East Grand Forks. Rodney farmed his entire life in the East Grand Forks area retiring in 1996. They wintered in Palm Desert, CA for many years. Rodney was president of PKM Electric Cooperative and also the Farmers Elevator.
