Leola Knudsen
Leola Knudsen, 93, of Warren, MN, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.
Leola was born July 15, 1919, to Theodore and Hilda Willer in Argyle, MN. She married Ralph Knudsen on August 2, 1942. They celebrated 70 years of marriage in August of 2012. They spent their lives together on a farm in Warrenton township. She loved fishing on Lake of the Woods, walking the beach in Florida, and watching the Minnesota Twins and Gopher basketball. She always remembered every child and grandchild’s birthday.

Russell Swenson
Russell Swenson, 86, of Karlstad, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Kittson Memorial Hospital in Hallock, Minnesota. Russell Magnus Swenson was born February 2, 1927 to August and Cora (Shurson) Swenson in Jupiter Township of Kittson County. He graduated from Karlstad High School in 1945 and went on to attend North Dakota State University. Russell served with the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946. On December 19, 1964 he was united in marriage to Ruth Lundquist Henry at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma, Minnesota. The couple lived in Halma for a couple of years before moving to the farm in Jupiter Township. They moved into Karlstad in 2012. Ruth passed away on March 11, 2012. Russell was a member of the Eidsvold Lutheran Church and served as trustee on the church council and was a charter member of the Halma-Lake Bronson American Legion. Russell’s hobbies included riding 4-wheelers, reading and watching his
Minnesota Twins.
