DNR Enforcement report: Ice fishing winds down, Close encounter of the skunk kind etc.
CO Angie Warren (Thief River Falls) was notified by an individual that a skunk was in an area drainage ditch with a bottle stuck on its head. The skunk was located and after a couple of close calls with the wrong end of the skunk she was able to hold the bottle down with a stick and the skunk was able to free itself and go on its way.

Anglers kept 29,000 pounds of walleyes this winter on Upper Red Lake during the creel survey period that began Dec. 1 and ended Feb. 28. That’s down from 65,000 pounds during the winter of 2009-2010 and 52,000 pounds during the winter of 2008-2009.
