All I used to know about ALS was that it took the life of Lou Gerhrig back in 1941. The disease has a long name — amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It’s a disease of nerve cells in the brain and nerves that control voluntary muscles.

At 79, Baudette angler Bill Mouw still has a passion for fishing
In 1966, Bill Mouw and his wife, Bette, bought a farm outside Baudette, Minn., a small town on the Minnesota-Ontario border, then a second. They grew wheat, oats, flax and clover, and embraced the tight-knit community. There might have been another reason for the Mouws’ migration: Bill loves to fish.
