When Brent Hintz hears that his Grand Forks Central girls basketball team has room for improvement, he takes it as a compliment. Central showed that room for improvement when it started the season with five straight losses. But the Knights have turned their fortunes around, winning six of their last nine games. On Monday, they travel to Grand Forks Red River to play a Roughriders team that beat the Knights 63-52 last month. The game is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.

The Green Wave have earned statewide respect, as indicated by their No. 18 ranking in this week’s Class A poll. The bad news?
