USDA to conduct N.D. 2.0 community tour
Devils Lake and Grafton are among 12 North Dakota cities that will host community meetings focusing on building rural North Dakota. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development, the tour is designed to build on the ND 2.0 Summit in October in Bismarck. “Engaging and listening to communities is pivotal to building a better North Dakota,” said Rural Development’s State Director Jasper Schneider.

Breaking into biology: Brunelle plows new ground as American Indian researcher
Dale Brunelle has always wanted to know how things worked. Now he knows more than most about the genetic machinery that controls the growth of corn. A member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa in Belcourt, N.D., he will receive a Master of Science degree in biology today at UND’s winter commencement. He plans to continue his work at UND to earn a doctoral degree in genetics, said his mentor and adviser, Bill Sheridan, professor of biology.
