In 1996-97, there were eight, including the worst of them all, Blizzard Hannah. Hannah struck in early April 1997 and helped ensure the historic flood that followed.

UPDATED AT 1:15 p.m. Interstate 29 was open for travel in North Dakota as of about 1 p.m. Saturday, according to the Department of Transportation. But I-94 from Jamestown through Bismarck to Dickinson, as well as U.S. Highway 83 from Bismarck to Minot remained closed at about 1 p.m. Saturday. No other major highways were closed by that time, according to the DOT.
