Student Body President Logan Fletcher said he supports the new admission standards if it allows UND to improve on an academic level. “Whether or not this is the only way to do that is something I’m unsure of,” he said. The stricter admission standards would likely cut down on the number of students being accepted to UND, something that may have benefits for students who make the cut.

Officially, UND has been elected to full Division I active membership status from the NCAA. The NCAA’s announcement completes UND’s transition from Division II status. UND President Dr. Robert Kelley received a letter from the NCAA on Thursday confirming the university’s active membership in Division I athletics.
