Lake Region State College restarting volleyball program
Brigitte Freschette didn’t know Lake Region State College had dropped its volleyball program several years ago until she was hired as a counselor at the school last summer. In less than a month after her arrival, however, volleyball again was a part of the LRSC athletic program. And Freschette found herself in charge of resurrecting the dormant program. Since taking the position as head coach on a volunteer basis last September, Freschette has been putting the pieces together for a team that will play a varsity schedule in the fall.

Askew in race for Pembina Commission
Former Pembina County State’s Attorney Stuart Askew, who resigned his office in February, just before he was to face a hearing prompted by a request to remove him from office, is running for county commission.
