The Eagles’ first appearance in the Minnesota Class A high school fastpitch softball tournament resulted in a 10-0 quarterfinal loss to New Ulm Cathedral. Red Lake Falls bounced back to beat Eden Valley-Watkins 6-0 in the consolation semifinals.

The Eagles cruised through their first four games in the Minnesota Section 8A high school softball tournament, outscoring opponents 31-4. Then, in the first championship game of the double-elimination portion of the tournament, RLF committed five errors in a 9-3 loss to Badger-Greenbush-Middle River. The Eagles take a 22-4 record into the state tournament, where they’ll meet Eden Valley-Watkins in an 11 a.m. quarterfinal game Thursday in North Mankato.
