PREP WRESTLING: Wrestling has come full circle for Todd Lambrecht.
Lambrecht was a high school 189-pound state champion while competing at Devils Lake High School. That was back when he was a senior during the 1989-90 season. After that it was on to the University of Mary and honorable mention NAIA All-America honors in football as an offensive lineman, then teaching and coaching stints in high schools in North Dakota, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Virginia Barendt, 77, of Grand Forks, ND died Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Valley Eldercare, Grand Forks, ND.
Virginia Barendt was born February 21, 1935 in Devils Lake, ND the daughter of James and Leona (Wruck) Hennessy. She grew up in Devils Lake and graduated from Devils Like Central High School in 1952. She worked in Devils Lake as a switchboard operator. She married Gerald Barendt in Devils Lake on October 14, 1954. They farmed for a number of years in Webster, ND area. She moved to Devils Lake in 1981 where she worked at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center. She moved to Grand Forks in 1997 where she worked at Skips Budget Drug and Red River High School in the commons area.

He ended up following in his father’s footsteps, teaching music for more than 30 years at Grand Forks Red River High School. Ken’s son Brad now follows in his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps at Red River.
