Randolph "Casey" Jones
Randolph "Casey" Jones, founder of The Colorado Choir and longtime conductor of the Adams State Choir, Alamosa, CO, age 87, passed away on February 15, 2013.

Born in Erskine, MN, son of Oscar and Selma Jones, he attended Augustana Academy. In 1998, Jones received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from Augustana College, Sioux Falls, SD. As a graduate of Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, he was named Outstanding Alumnus in 2000. In the late 1950's and early 60's Jones served as minister of music in Grafton, ND as well as United Lutheran, Grand Forks, and Trinity Lutheran in Moorhead, MN. Jones was inducted into the Colorado Music Educators Hall of Fame and, in 1997, was awarded the Colorado Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts. During Jones' 60 year career, his choirs performed over 50 concerts with the Denver Symphony, more than 1200 concerts in 26 states and 18 foreign countries and 1800 church services. His life work was "to reveal with conviction the profound musical thoughts of great composers."
