Henry R. Vasek , 85, of Tabor, MN died Sunday April 7, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND following unexpected complications after heart surgery.

Henry Robert Vasek was born on December 23, 1927 the son of Frank and Bertha (Gust) Vasek in Northland Township, rural Tabor, MN. Henry proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1947. On April 21, 1952, Henry was united in marriage to Doris Dubuque at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND. On a farm near Tabor, together they raised small grains, potatoes and cattle. He also began Vasek Construction Inc., still being operated today by their son, Mike. After his stroke in 2000, he continued his love of farming with his Oliver tractor collection and gardening.
