Hjelle, Helen O., age 80 of Burnsville passed away unexpectedly into the arms of her Savior on April 14, 2013 at her home. Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert, and granddaughter, Jessica D. Hanson. Survived by her children: Susan (David) Hanson, Mark (Michelle), Paulette Hjelle-Ranta (Fiancé Mike O’Cordan), Paul (Brenda), and Stacey Hjelle; 7 grandchildren, Josh (Jessica), Erica, Ryan, Noele (Bryan), Bryce, Brady, Jackson; 1 great grandchild, Sophia; siblings: Marjorie Kvern and David (Susan) Lindquist; also by other loving relatives and friends. Helen will always be remembered for her positive outlook, generous encouragement, and contagious laugh. She was a woman of deep faith who believed that prayer changes things. She was born in Newfolden, MN; raised a family in Warren and East Grand Forks, MN; and in 2009, retired from Burnsville Park Nicollet after 28 yrs of service. Harlan “Butch” Woken, 84, of Northwood, ND passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at his home in Northwood under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Funeral services will be held today at 2:00pm at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood.
