Richard Anderson, 80 of Viking, MN died February 5, 2013 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

He was born March 2, 1932 in Augsberg Township near Stephen, MN to Charles and Alice (Frei) Anderson. He attended Woodside Country School and the Karlstad school. Richard started farming in the Karlstad area and on June 12, 1951 he married Geraldine ’Jean” Meagher of Pembina, N.D. He was the owner and operator of Lake Bronson Grain Elevator. Richard and Jean owned and operated the J & J Restaurant. In 1993, Jean passed away. Richard entered a into a second marriage with Ione (Berg) Brosdahl.

Lobbyists for the Minnesota Vikings are reporting $115,000 in expenses this year through May, when the Legislature approved a $975 million stadium. The disclosures came in lobbying reports filed last week and posted Monday by the state Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board.

Stadium negotiators reach deal
Private meetings throughout today apparently yielded a compromise on how to build a Vikings stadium. Legislative officials said no details will be made public until a 9 p.m. House-Senate conference committee meeting. That meeting is expected to ratify negotiators’ work, and the full House could take up the bill later tonight or early Thursday. Senators are not expected to debate the measure until later Thursday.
